Wendy Denise Holmes

Wendy Denise (Bowman) Holmes, 58, of Moline, IL, passed away in her home on April 29, 2025, with her loving family by her side.

She was born April 2, 1967, in Moline, IL, to Diane Lee and the late Kenneth Bowman. Wendy married Andrew Holmes on July 3, 1999.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, with a visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. preceding the service at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. 

Wendy was an outgoing, giving, and truly kind spirit with a huge heart. She was happiest when making memories with her family, especially supporting her grandsons in their sporting events as their forever cheerleader. She loved being what she called a chauffeur to Jonathan and Justin, cherishing every moment she had with them. Not only were her two sons and two grandsons "her boys," but all her nephews, as well.

Wendy was an entrepreneur, enjoying many ways to make a living while making many new friends in the process. There was no such thing as strangers to Wendy. She would do almost anything for anyone in their time of need. Wendy enjoyed cooking and going out for Mexican food, which was her favorite. She was an avid fan of Costco and Buc-ee's. She was a talented artist, photographer, and crafter. She loved creating, starting new adventures, and was always up for trying new things. Wendy loved animals, especially her Huskies and Pittie grand dogs.

Wendy leaves behind to cherish her memory; her husband, Andrew, her children, Joshua Drake and Adam Holmes, her two grandsons, Jonathan and Justin Drake and bonus grandchildren Dayton, Lainey and Libby; Mother and Stepfather Diana and David Lee; Siblings, Heather Rosmann, her two sons, Caleb and Lucas Rosmann; Melissa (Pete) Jeffers, her two children, Noelle and Chance Bowman; Angela Hatfield; Matthew (Nikki) Lee and their two sons, Cooper and Hunter; Jennifer (Charles) Cole and their children Austin and Rosey; Wesley (Laura) Bowman and their children Ruby and Felicity; David (Lisa) Lee and their children Amanda, David and Aubree; Andy (Deanna) Lee and their children Serena and Hannah; Patti (Curtis) Atkinson and her children Trisha and Rachel; Gabrielle Lee; Kali Lee and her child Miles; sister-in-law Cathie (Alan) Maulberger and their children Amanda and Timothy. She also leaves behind several great-nieces and nephews. She wanted so much to live long enough to welcome her great-niece, Adalynn Mae, into this world, but sadly, she couldn't hold on any longer. Wendy also leaves behind her dearest cousins, Hope and Helenna.

Wendy is preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Bowman, sister Kitty Lee, Mother-in-law Gillian Holmes, and brother-in-law Wade Hatfield.

Wendy is leaving a deep void in our hearts and will be missed by all who knew her.
