Velma M Waldschmidt

Velma M. Waldschmidt, age 94, of Oak Glen Home in Coal Valley, IL., died on Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at Trinity Medical Center West in Rock Island, IL. Velma M. Burkley was born on June 4, 1913, to Henry W. and Johanna (Sommers) Burkley in Kalona, IA. She married Hubert M. Waldschmidt on November 27, 1935, in Davenport, IA. He preceded her in death on December 10, 1972. She was a home maker, and enjoyed gardening and yard work, and she loved to play Bingo. Services will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2007, at 11:00 a.m., at the Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL. Visitation will be on June 16th, from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Rock Island, IL. Survivors include her daughter: Marilyn J. Eckles of Moline; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two nieces. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a sister: Barbara Small; and a brother: John Burkley.
