San Juana DeLeon, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2026, at The Vistas in Bettendorf, IA, at the age of 78. Born on July 20, 1948, in Brownsville, TX, she lived a life filled with love, laughter, and the joy of family.

San Juana's heart was always full, especially when surrounded by her cherished grandchildren, with whom she loved spending time. She had a passion for cooking and made it her mission to spread love throughout her neighborhood with her delicious meals. Her home was often filled with the sounds of laughter, music, and the irresistible aroma of her culinary creations. She delighted in entertaining, sharing jokes with children, and dancing to her favorite tunes.

A devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, SanJuana found joy in cheering for her team. She also loved socializing with friends, frequenting clubs and bars where she enjoyed the lively music and her favorite drink, a salted and limed Corona.

San Juana is preceded in death by her parents, Ramon and Ana (Balli) DeLeon; her oldest infant daughter, Modesta DeLeon; and her siblings, Ricardo DeLeon, Ana Belia Llosa, Maria Delores Vargas, Elida DeLeon, Alfonso "Poncho" DeLeon, and Jose Luis DeLeon.

She leaves behind her loving daughters, Noemi DeLeon and Maria DeLeon, along with her treasured grandchildren, Romero, GioVonni, and Lyzett. She is also survived by her sisters, Rosalinda (Mariano) Gonzalez, Dalia (Clemente) Solis, Maria Elena (Antonio) Marrero, and Ida (Beto) Cortez; her brothers, Noe (Diana) DeLeon and Joel (Candace) DeLeon; as well as many nieces and nephews who will forever hold her memory dear.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Tuesday, September 8, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Wendt Funeral Home, 1811 15th Street Place, Moline, Illinois. The family will speak at 1:00 p.m., followed by a luncheon at the Elks Lodge, 4400 West Central Park Avenue, Davenport, Iowa.
