Robert J. Robinson, 80, of Moline, IL, arrived in Heaven on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Sharon Willows Nursing Home, Peoria, IL.

He was born on July 1, 1942, in Oskaloosa, IA, to John and Lois Robinson. Robert served in the United States Army as a Private First Class and was a Vietnam War Veteran. He retired from the Cordova Nuclear power plant.

Robert married Dolores Smith on September 15, 2012, in Moline, IL. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, attending services at church, fishing, and playing cards. He was an avid Cubs fan.

He was a lifetime member of Chapter 669, Vietnam Vets of America, and volunteered his time with the VA step-down.

Services will be held on Monday, October 31, 2022, at 11:00 am, at Northcrest Calvary Baptist Church 3004 - 56th St., Moline, with a one-hour visitation before the service. The interment will be at Rock Island National Cemetery on Arsenal Island.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to his wife, Dolores, or the Veterans Association.

Survivors include his wife, Dolores Robinson; his step-mother Darlene Miljush; his children Christopher Robinson and Sonya Engle; step-children Andre (Mary) Smith of Carbon Cliff, IL, Diane (Edward) Ford of Milan, IL, and Preston (Lori) Smith of Colorado Springs, CO; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jerry Robinson and sister Janice Cherrington.
