Richard D. Strong, Sr., (Dick Strong), 81, of Coal Valley, IL, died Thursday, July 27, 2017, at his home, after a long battle with illness. A memorial visitation will be held Wednesday, August 2nd, at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Inurnment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please keep us in your prayers. Dick was born November 4, 1935, in Iowa City, IA. In Davenport, IA, on February 15, 1955, he married Brigitte Oswald. He was Senior Corporate Pilot at MidAmerican Energy until his retirement. Flying was Dick’s passion. He was a man of integrity and honesty, known throughout the industry for his impeccable work ethic. He was a good-hearted man with a generous spirit, and was an enthusiastic animal lover, who will be deeply missed! In addition to Brigitte, his wife of over 62 years, survivors include daughters, Debora, Chele, and Monica, six grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Suzie.
