Paul "Pete" D. Davidson

November 11, 1938 — February 5, 2025

Moline

Paul “Pete” Davidson, age 86, passed away peacefully in the loving arms of his wife on February 5, 2025, at Clarissa C. Cook House in Bettendorf, Iowa.

Pete was born on Armistice Day, November 11, 1938, in Moline, Illinois, to Lawrence and Katherine Davidson. On August 17, 1974, he married Linda Juenger, and they spent 50 wonderful years together, sharing a life full of love, laughter, and countless adventures with their many dear friends.

After graduating from high school, Pete served proudly in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Valley Forge, sailing the Mediterranean. Upon returning, he began his career as an electrician at Alcoa in Bettendorf, Iowa, where he eventually retired as an electrical superintendent in 1999. Pete always spoke fondly of his time at Alcoa.

Pete was a man of many passions. He enjoyed golfing, arrowhead hunting, bowling, traveling the world, working out at the YMCA, and, more recently, playing Wordle. In his younger years, Pete played semi-professional football for the Quad City Mohawks. During his retirement, he cherished regular gatherings with fellow retired Alcoans for breakfast, attending coffee hours at church, and meeting up with his special "boys' night out" group for lunch.

A lifelong member of Salem Lutheran Church, Pete served in many capacities over the years. He was also a proud member of the Vikings and Short Hills Country Club.

Pete is survived by his beloved wife, Linda; his children, Kevin (Tomoko), Mark (Renee), and Beth (Johnny) Russler; brother-in-law Nick (Angie) Juenger; his grandchildren, Prana (Steven) Sabat, Sheranee (Brandon) Mariner, Alisa and Erica Davidson, JJ, and Lucy Russler; and his great-grandchildren, Brashean, Maraya, Sophia, Adrianna, Michael, Grayson, and Natalia, along with several nieces and nephews; and his loyal dog, Louie, who was always by his side.

His parents and grandchildren, Zoe Davidson, Reese, and Roxanne Russler, preceded him in death. Pete’s humor and fun-loving spirit will be missed by all who knew him.

A funeral service to honor Pete’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Salem Lutheran Church in Moline. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. A private burial at the Arsenal will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House and Salem Lutheran Church, Moline.

Family and friends are invited to share memories and express condolences to the family on his Memory Wall at wendtfuneralhome.com.
