Patricia “Pat” Kinney, age 73, of Moline, Illinois, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2026, at Overlook Village in Moline.
Born on January 11, 1953, in Unionville, Missouri, Pat was a lifelong resident of the Quad Cities area. She graduated from Moline High School and spent many years working as a receptionist, most notably managing the front desk at The Hairdressers in Moline alongside her brother and sister. She also worked in the office of Dr. Don McNeal, DDS.
Pat was a woman of contagious joy and warmth, known as the “glue” and matriarch of her family. She was deeply devoted to her children and grandchildren, taking an active role in their school activities and those of their friends, always ensuring rides to and from sports and extracurricular events. Her family lovingly called her the “taxi” of the family. Pat was also known for her wonderful cooking and cherished Sunday dinners, which brought family together around the table and created lasting memories. An avid collector of Santa Clauses, she delighted in her collection and the joy of the Christmas season. She also loved photography and treasured the moments she captured with her loved ones.
She shared 55 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Rich Kinney, until his passing on July 4, 2026. Pat was also preceded in death by her parents, Ruben and Leo Tingley.
She is survived by her children, Chris Kinney (Kate) and Amy Kinney (Kyle Elliott); her cherished grandchildren, Rylie Schnack, Jessica Kinney, and Joshua Kinney; her siblings, Richard (Pam) Tingley, Anna Dudolski, Robert Tingley, Ruth Tingley, and Rita Ramirez; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Eve Kinney; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 6, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 5:00 p.m. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to QC Paws (Rock Island County Animal Shelter), reflecting Pat’s love for animals and her caring nature.
Pat will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the family she held together, the Sunday dinners that brought everyone home, and the countless memories she created through her love, generosity, and joyful spirit.
