Michael Cody
Kirkpatrick
Dec 10, 1991 — Jul 9, 2026
Michael "Cody" Kirkpatrick, 34, of Moline, Illinois, passed away on July 9, 2026.
Known simply as Cody to those who loved him, he will be remembered for his kind heart, quiet strength, and deep appreciation for music. He had a gentle spirit and a calm presence that left a lasting impression on everyone, fortunate enough to know him.
Cody enjoyed playing baseball, watching stock car racing, and listening to heavy metal, especially Pantera. Music was more than a hobby—it was a part of who he was. He learned to play guitar from his father, creating memories and a bond he treasured throughout his life. Over the years, he found both joy and comfort in playing his acoustic guitar. Cody was also an avid Denver Bronco's fan, he was often seen wearing his Denver hoodie.
A dedicated cook, Cody spent much of his career working in the food service industry. He was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and steady demeanor, earning the respect and friendship of those who worked alongside him. He took pride in his work and valued the connections he made along the way.
Cody is survived by his brothers, Melvin Doss Jr. (Melissa Hernandez) and John Scott III (Lisa Huntley); his stepbrother, Randy (Virginia) Doss; his stepsister, Elisha (Leon) Lindsey; and his aunts, Debra Bates and Angie Winkowski. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael D. Kirkpatrick and Kathryn Kay Kirkpatrick; his grandparents, Wayne Cunningham and Genevieve Clark; and his aunt, Sondra Boyle.
Though Cody's life ended far too soon, the love he shared, the music that filled his days, and the memories he created with family and friends will continue to live on. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
