Marguerite Allemeier, 85, passed away peacefully on February 21, surrounded by her loving sons at her bedside.

Marguerite Ann Wright was born on April 9, 1940, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Will T. Wright and Isabel Jack Wright. The oldest of four children, she grew up with a deep sense of responsibility, curiosity, and compassion that would define her life.

She graduated from Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas, and began her teaching career in the Denver area, where she met the love of her life, James Allemeier. They were united in marriage on July 18, 1964, and together built a life centered on faith, family, and service as they raised three sons. Their journey took them across the country and around the world. Marguerite cherished the many places she visited, including several countries in Europe, as well as Egypt, Israel, China, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic—each trip reflecting her adventurous spirit and appreciation for different cultures.

When James’ ministry brought the family to Moline in 1972, Marguerite continued to share her gifts as a long-time substitute teacher and devoted Sunday school teacher. She touched countless lives through her gentle guidance, steadfast faith, and generous heart.

Marguerite is lovingly remembered by her sons, Kurt Allemeier and John (Susan) Allemeier; her sister, Marcia (Steve) Kaufman; her stepsister, Jan See; and her grandchildren, Terry Wooley, Aree (Steve) Sollis, Lissa (Noah) Hinrichs, Noah Allemeier, and Claudia Allemeier.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, James; her brothers, Charles Wright and Jack Wright; her stepson, James Karl (Jana) Allemeier; her stepbrothers, Dick Boyer, Larry Boyer, and Jim Boyer; and her stepmother, Maureen Wright.

Marguerite will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her love of learning and travel, and, above all, her devotion to her family. Her legacy of kindness and grace lives on in all who were blessed to know her.

Funeral Services will take place on March 16, 2026, at All Saints Episcopal Church, Rock Island, IL. Check back for the service time which will be announced soon. Memorials may be made to All Saints Episcopal Church Angel Fund.
