In loving memory of Margaret M. Jahn, 92, of Rock Island, IL, who passed away Friday, December 16, 2016, at St. Anthony’s Nursing & Rehab Center in Rock Island. A visitation will be held Wednesday, December 21st, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL. Immediately afterward, there will be a graveside service at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a local hospice. Margaret M. Layer was born in Big Island (Milan), IL, on December 2, 1924, to Joe and Magdalena (Bartels) Layer. She was a graduate of Rock Island High School, and was employed for 38 years in the Accounting Department at Modern Woodmen of America, retiring April 30, 1988. She was a member of the Church of Peace United, and enjoyed vegetable gardening. Survivors include two sisters, Edna Pekrul of Reed City, MI, and Fern Wadsworth of Milan, IL; and multiple nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Dorothy Layer, and a brother, Joe Layer.
