Kenneth John Zenner, known affectionately as "Carpenter Ken," passed away on August 14, 2025, at his home. He was born on April 25, 1958, in Dubuque, Iowa. Ken lived a fulfilling life marked by numerous talents and a deep commitment to his family.

Throughout his career, Ken was celebrated for his remarkable skills in various trades, including carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, and building. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to own his own company, Budget Improvement, where he dedicated many years to improving homes and spaces for countless clients. Some of these years included a role at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, where he was instrumental in maintaining and repairing the historic Queen Anne Victorian Home, contributing to its preservation and beauty.

Ken's intelligence and quick-witted personality shone through in all his endeavors. He was determined to tackle every project with excellence, consistently demonstrating his ability to fix just about anything. In the months leading up to his passing, Ken found joy in the hobby of model building, specifically focusing on creating intricate models of old ships—a testament to his exceptional craftsmanship honed over years of experience in construction and home remodeling.

Ken also loved the outdoors, especially fishing. He traveled to various lakes in Minnesota with friends multiple times, in pursuit of walleye, and proudly caught an abundance of fish on these trips. These adventures brought him great happiness, reflecting his appreciation for nature and the simple joys of life.

Another of Ken's longtime passions was computer gaming and building computers. He was meticulous when it came to assembling systems, not only for himself but also for friends, and most especially for his son, Sam. His dedication to this hobby highlighted his attention to detail, technical skill, and desire to share what he loved with those closest to him.

Ken's military service in the Air Force after high school was another notable chapter in his life. Stationed at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, Kansas, he managed the golf course for the commander of the base, a role that blended his organizational skills with his love for the outdoors.

Beyond his professional achievements, Ken was deeply proud of raising his son, Samuel Cline, of Bettendorf, Iowa. Samuel was the cornerstone of Ken's life, embodying his most significant accomplishment. Ken is also survived by his siblings: Doug of Hayden, ID, Edward, and several nieces and nephews.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Janice (Ramsli) Zenner, along with his brother, Michael, and sister, Clarice. His vibrant humor and determination to excel at every task will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. Ken's legacy of hard work, creativity, love, and a deep appreciation for both family and his many passions will continue to inspire those left behind.
