Kenneth L. Warren,82, of Moline, IL, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2011, at his home. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 21st, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline. Services will be Thursday, December 22nd, at 11:00 a.m., at Elim Covenant Church, 5201 - 18th Avenue, Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, Silvis, IL Memorials may be made to the Genesis Medical Center Hospice Program, or to Elim Covenant Church, Moline. Kenneth L. Warren was born December 6, 1929, in Springfield, IL, to Gordon and Carrie (Welch) Warren. On June 3, 1950, in Moline, he married Shirley Mullen, who survives. He was the Moline area salesman for more than thirty years, for the Heilman Baking Company of Madison, WI, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the Elim Covenant Church, and a member of the Quad City Conservation Alliance. He worked at the QCCA after retirement, and was active in the merging of the Rock Island Conservation Club with the Moline Conservation Club, and the start-up of the QCCA. He liked Midget Car Racing, and was part of a racing team, and enjoyed model railroading, and was an avid fan of Moline High School basketball. He especially loved spending the summers with family and friends in Bagley, WI, fishing at The Cabin. In addition to his wife, Shirley, survivors include: daughters: Patty (Rick) Garrels of Eldridge, IA, and Sandy (Kurt) Freddy of Atkinson, IL; a son: Jim (Phyllis) Warren of Fitchburg, WI; nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Debbie.
