Kathleen Ann Olberts, age 72, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, after a valiant battle with a progressive illness in Davis, California. Kathy was born on May 15, 1953, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
At age 7, Kathy and her family moved to Moline, Illinois. She graduated from Moline High School in 1971 and earned her undergraduate and MBA from the University of Illinois. After living and working in Chicago for 8 years, Kathy moved to San Francisco, California, where she continued her long and successful career in the corporate marketing world. Later in her career, she became a life coach and career counselor. After Kathy’s retirement, she relocated from San Francisco to Sacramento, California.
Besides her enthusiasm for tennis and volleyball, Kathy was a passionate lover of music throughout her entire life. She played the guitar, ukulele, and piano, and participated in many singing groups.
Kathy will be fondly remembered as a kind and caring person. Her generous spirit, love, and dedication to her family and friends will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her.
Those left to cherish Kathy’s memory are her loving spouse, Shauna Joseph; her mother, Lois Olberts of Silvis, IL; brothers Mark (Annie) Olberts, Gregg (Jeanna) Olberts, John Olberts, and Scott (Cristi) Olberts; niece Melissa Faris and nephew Adam Olberts; cousins Sheila (Jose) Jeanneau and Peter (Karla) Christensen; as well as a host of cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her Uncle, Robert Christensen, and an Aunt, Mary Ellen Christiansen.
Kathy’s father, Duane Olberts, recently passed away on November 28, 2025. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Church in Moline, Illinois, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. to honor both Kathy and her recently deceased father, Duane.
