Julie Y. Falsey, born on June 10, 1962, in Davenport, Iowa, passed away peacefully in her home in East Moline, Illinois, on July 30, 2025. She was 63 years old and remembered for her loving spirit and dedication to her family.
Julie’s career took her through various paths, including her time as a proof analyst at First Midwest Bank and as a waitress at the I-80 truck stop. Wherever she worked, she brought kindness and warmth to those around her, a true testament to her compassionate nature.
Her family was her world. Julie is survived by her devoted parents, Norman and Joyce Cole Sr. She leaves behind her beloved son, Derik Martinez of East Moline, IL, who has been a source of pride and joy for her. Julie adored her two grandchildren, Jackson Martinez of Davenport, IA, and Brooklyn Martinez of East Moline, IL, cherishing every moment spent with them. Her siblings—Tara (Mike) Liggett of Colona, IL, Tracy Williamson of Davenport, IA, Kelly (Gregg) Madison of Moline, IL, and Norman Cole Jr. of Silvis, IL—have lost a sister who brought laughter and love into their lives.
Julie shared a special bond with her husband, John Falsey, whom she married in Bettendorf, IA, in 2018. Although their time together was all too brief, his memory remains in her heart. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, and her beloved dog Blue.
Julie’s personality shone brightly in every interaction. She had an immense love for her family and her pets and delighted in sharing wonderful dinners with loved ones. Her infectious laughter and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
As her family prepares to say their final goodbyes, they express heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at MercyOne Genesis Hospice, with a special thank you to Theresa for her exceptional care and support during this difficult time.
Julie’s graveside service will be held on August 2, 2025, at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline, Illinois, starting at 11:00 AM, followed by her burial at noon. Her family invites all who knew and loved Julie to join them in honoring her beautiful life.
