IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Julia
Duffy
April 28, 1972 – February 6, 2026
Celebration of Life
Wendt Funeral Home
1:00 - 4:00 pm (Central time)
Julia Elizabeth Duffy, born on April 28, 1972, in Davenport, Iowa, passed away peacefully at her residence in Davenport on February 6, 2026, with her loving husband, David, 2 sons, and her beloved dog Remi by her side. A devoted mother, wife, and daughter, Julia will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Julia, formerly known by her maiden name, Kemp, was a proud graduate of West High School in Davenport, Iowa, class of 1990. Following her education, she embarked on a successful career with FedEx Ground from 1993 until 2018, before dedicating her work to her husband's family businesses. Her work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident throughout her life.
Julia loved spending time with family and friends, and spoiling her dog, Remi, who was most certainly her favorite. She was loved by her neighborhood, often hosting parties with David, whether making meals for parties, baking cookies for grandkids and all the neighborhood kids, and canning fresh veggies from her garden. Julie prided herself on keeping her house clean and orderly, even though the latter sometimes became a loved handicap for her family, as it often meant moving things around. For "better organization"! Her house was always filled with laughter and love. Julie was strong-willed and passionate, enjoying political discussions in which she was never afraid to speak her mind. Away from home, she loved traveling to the Colorado Rockies with her family. While not a big fan of the outdoors, she always enjoyed spending peaceful time with her family, as long as Remi could come! Julie was most at home when caring for those around her and always put others before herself. Nothing brought her more joy than the happiness and laughter of friends, family, neighbors, and grandkids.
Julia's legacy lives on through her seven children: Phoenix Kemp, Jacob (Alyssa) Kroeger, Aiden Kroeger, Derek (Katie Jo) Duffy, Dustin (Kendra) Duffy, Tegan (Caleb) Duffy, Tyler (Emilee) Duffy, and 14 grandchildren. She is also survived by her parents, Daniel Kemp, Carolyn (Ogle) Rentfro (Gary), and her brother Matthew (Donyelle) Kemp. Each of them holds a wealth of memories and experiences that will color their remembrance of Julia's life and spirit.
Preceded in death by Michael Kroeger, Grandparents Eugene and Edith Kemp, Clarence Ogle, and Ellen (Ogle) Johnson
