Janet L. Rexroad, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025, at her home in Moline, Illinois. Born on February 18, 1947, in Jacksonville, Illinois, Janet's life was one defined by her unwavering kindness, compassion, and love for those around her.

A proud graduate of Erie Community High School in 1965, Janet embraced her educational journey with the same fervor she exhibited throughout her life. She later earned her Foster Parents Certificate, which marked one of her proudest accomplishments and reflected her deep commitment to nurturing and caring for children. Janet was not only dedicated to her education but also made a significant impact in her profession. For many years, she was employed at Seaford Clothing, worked at 7-Eleven convenience stores, and enjoyed the joys of babysitting, where her caring nature shone through.

Janet was known for her kind and caring spirit—qualities that drew people to her. Over the years, she became an integral part of her community, joining the Church of the Nazarene in Coal Valley, IL, in 1977 and remaining a member until its closing, after which she became part of Grace Bible Fellowship in Moline, IL. Her faith was a guiding light in her life, and she drew strength from the friendships and connections she formed within her church community. The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to Pastor Donnie and Becky of Grace Bible Fellowship Church, as well as UnityPoint Hospice nurses, Ruth and D, along with Chaplain Steve, for their exceptional kindness, love, and care during her final days.

Throughout her life, Janet found joy in many simple pleasures. She had a passion for sewing and crafting and cherished the time spent with her family and friends. As a child, she delighted in riding her horse to school, a testament to her adventurous spirit and love of life.

Janet leaves behind her cherished children, James L. Rexroad (Tammy) of East Moline, Angela Potter (Bill Garvin) of East Moline and Skyelynne, Nevaeh, CeCe, and Mary, all of Moline; and her beloved grandchildren, including Kristina Nelson of Lynn Center, IL, James Rexroad Sr. of Coal Valley, Nicholas of Moline, Jamie Lee of Moline, Shelby Potter Robinson (Chris), Alyssa of East Moline, Willow, Kay’Lanii,Brayden, Brooklyn all of Moline.
