Jane O. Green, 81, of Silvis, IL. died Monday, June 23, 2008, at Illini Restorative Care Center in Silvis. Jane Olander was born on November 22, 1926, to Adolph and Helen (Wheeler) Olander in Aberdeen, SD. She married Jesse S. Green on May 31, 1948, in Jacksonville, IL. He preceded her in death on March 20, 2004. She graduated from MacMurray College in Jacksonville, IL, and taught school for twenty years in District 40 Moline and Coal Valley schools. Jane had the designation of a Master Teacher. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Moline, the Kings Daughters, and was an avid reader. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, June 30th, at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church in Moline. After the service, coffee for family and friends will be served in the church hall. Burial will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO. Arrangements are being handled by Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Memorials may be made to the Silvis Public Library, 105 Eighth Street, Silvis, IL 61282. Survivors include: four daughters: Jessica (Tom) Alger of Hampton, IL, Nancy (Ray) Jones of Kirksville, MO, Tina (Mike) Williams of Peoria, IL; and Cathy (Alan) Massengale of New Orleans, LA; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother: Robert.
