James "Jim" Wamberg, a devoted family man and skilled craftsman, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026, at Allure of the Quad Cities in Moline, Illinois. Born on May 28, 1940, in Luverne, North Dakota, Jim lived a life marked by dedication, service, and the appreciation of simple joys.

Jim was a proud High School graduate who answered the call to serve his country in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he embarked on a long and dedicated career as a welder with John Deere Seeding in Moline, Illinois. For 30 years, he worked diligently, demonstrating his commitment and expertise before retiring with pride.

Beyond his professional achievements, Jim found happiness in pursuits that brought him peace and contentment. He had a passion for flying and woodworking, activities through which he expressed his creativity and skill. His care extended to his beloved John Deere riding mower—a testament to his meticulous nature. Jim also enjoyed riding the Channel Cat, savoring meals out, and simply relaxing. These activities were not just hobbies but moments where he found joy and a chance to connect with those around him.

Jim’s family was central to his life. He has been married to his loving wife, Carol (Lacy) Wamberg, for 26 years, since their union in 2000. Together, they shared a bond filled with affection and mutual respect. Jim is also survived by his son, Chris Wamberg and his wife, Cindy; his stepchildren, Danny (Christina) Surratt, Jeffrey Surratt, Teresa (Robert) Mendez, and Veronica (Jason) Goulet; as well as many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren who carry forward his legacy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ella (Andersen) Wamberg.

The Wamberg family extends heartfelt thanks to all family and friends for the compassion and support shown during this difficult time. Every prayer, message, and act of kindness has brought comfort as they honor Jim’s memory and stand together in grief and love.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim’s memory would be greatly appreciated by PayPal, Venmo, or Cash App. All funds raised will help cover funeral and memorial expenses, medical bills, and other financial needs during this difficult time. Any contribution, no matter the amount, is sincerely appreciated. If you are unable to give, sharing this request and keeping the family in your thoughts and prayers is deeply appreciated as well.

We are deeply grateful for every prayer, donation, message, and act of kindness shown to our family during this time. All funds are managed responsibly by Jim and Carol’s grandson, Rob, and will be used to assist Jim’s wife, Carol.

James "Jim" Wamberg will be remembered for his steady hands, warm heart, and the simple pleasures that defined his life. His spirit remains with those who loved him, a lasting reminder of a life well-lived.
