Jack attended Moline High School and then went on to serve his country with honor as a Vietnam Veteran in the United States Army. In recognition of his bravery and dedication, he was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star Medal with Valor, among other medals. His military service instilled in him a sense of duty and respect that he carried throughout his life.

After 30 years of service at the Milan Parts division of John Deere, Jack retired, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment. He was the founder and proud owner of Victoria Honker Duck and Goose Calls, successfully selling duck and goose calls across the United States and even in England. His passion for hunting was evident in his love for goose and duck hunting, which brought him great joy. Additionally, he provided parts to other call makers throughout the country, further establishing himself in the community.

In his younger years, Jack was an avid athlete who excelled at playing softball and golf, skills that carried over into his later years as well. He participated in long-ball tournaments, often achieving remarkable success. His competitive spirit and determination were evident in all he tried.

Most recently, Jack found solace in his faith, accepting Jesus as his Savior, which brought him comfort in his later years. He was a person who loved and celebrated his family, often speaking with pride about the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren.

Jack is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Burns; his son, Aron (Amy) Burns; his daughter, Amy (Gary) Bowling; his grandchildren, Paige (Hunter) Jones, Brooklyn Burns, Reilly Weaver (fiancé, Colin Hall), and Payton Bowling; and his great-grandchildren, Emmett Jones and the soon-to-arrive Emory Jones. He is also survived by his siblings, Faith (Doyle) Jordan and Brenda (Steve) Kratzberg, as well as many nieces and nephews, all of whom will carry his memory in their hearts.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents.

Jack's life was a testament to dedication, love, and resilience. He will be missed dearly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
