Helen L. Swanson, age 86, of Moline, IL. died Friday, July 20, 2007, at Aspenwood Health Care Center in Silvis, IL. Helen L. Hillyer was born on August 25, 1920, to Herbert and Mabel (Logston) Hillyer in Birmingham, IL. She married Harold "Red" Ford in 1938, and later, in 1963, she married Lyle Swanson. She worked for 10 years in the Parts Catalog Department of Deere & Co. in Moline before becoming a home maker. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church of Moline. Helen was the matriarch of a very large family. Visitation will be Sunday, July 22nd, from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be held Monday, July 23rd, at 10:00 A.M., at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens in Silvis. Memorials may be made to the family. Survivors include: her husband, Lyle of Moline; three daughters: Tudy (Gary) Stoneberger of Geneseo, IL; Cindy (Scott) Hollenback of Moline; and Sue Peterson of Moline; two sons: Harold "Bud" (Nadine) Ford of Springfield, IL; and Lyle "Bill" (Sug) Swanson, Jr of Vine Grove, KY; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter: Barbara; her sister: Esther; and her brother: Harold.
