Elizabeth
Bowers
March 11, 1978 – May 22, 2026
Elizabeth Bowers, a loving mother, devoted homemaker, and cherished member of her community, passed away on May 22, 2026, after a sudden stroke. Born to Gary Armstrong and Marion Elizabeth Hamrick on March 11, 1978, in Moline, Illinois, Elizabeth’s vibrant spirit was woven through the many roles she embraced in life, from her passion for home decorating and jewelry making to her deep love for her fish aquarium and the creative remodeling projects she joyfully shared with her husband, Matt.
Elizabeth’s life was centered around family and faith. She attended United Township High School before earning her GED, but it was her role as a mother that defined her most. She was a devoted mom to her children, Bryce, Jonah, Taylor, and Micah, and generously extended her love to become a “bonus mom” to their friends, welcoming them into her heart and home with open arms. Her love radiated through every corner of her family’s life, nurturing those around her with both kindness and strength.
Known for her colorful presence, Elizabeth’s love for purple was well-known and cherished; she even expressed it boldly with her own purple hair, a symbol of her joyful and unique personality. Her faith in Jesus was a guiding light, reflected in her active involvement with New Life Fellowship Church, where she served willingly, offering support and warmth to her church family.
Elizabeth leaves behind her devoted husband, Matt Bowers, and her four beloved children, Bryce, Jonah, Taylor, and Micah. She is also survived by Aunt Evelyn and several cousins who hold her memory dear. Though her parents, Marion Elizabeth Hamrick and Gary Armstrong of Silvis, Illinois, along with grandparents, several uncles, and an aunt, have preceded her in death, their legacy lives on through her life and the love she shared so freely.
Elizabeth’s home was her sanctuary, lovingly transformed alongside Matt into a personal haven, a testament to the life they built together. Her creativity, warmth, and unwavering devotion made her a beacon of love and comfort to all who knew her.
A celebration of life for Elizabeth Bowers will be held at New Life Fellowship Church in Moline, Illinois. Service details will be shared as they become available.
In the quiet moments after her passing, those who loved Elizabeth remember a woman who was vibrant, nurturing, and deeply faithful. Her legacy is one of a life beautifully lived, a cherished soul whose presence touched so many and whose love will forever illuminate the hearts of her family and friends. Elizabeth Bowers, with her purple hair and radiant heart, will remain an enduring light in the lives she so tenderly blessed.
Family and friends are invited to share memories and condolences on her tribute wall at www.wendtfuneralhome.com.
