Donna
Guss
August 21, 1960 – December 8, 2025
Donna Guss, a beloved soul whose spirit illuminated the lives of those around her, passed away peacefully at her home in Moline, Illinois, on December 8, 2025. Born on August 21, 1960, Donna was a fierce and vibrant woman who embraced life with passion, charm, and an unmistakable spark.
Throughout her life, Donna dedicated herself to her family and her career. She completed her CNA certification and worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for several years, a testament to her caring nature and relentless dedication to helping others. However, it was her partnership with her devoted husband, Harry "Allen" Guss, that truly defined her professional journey. Married on September 27, 1980, they shared not only a lifetime of love but also a thriving roofing business, where they worked side by side, exemplifying teamwork and mutual respect.
Donna's personality was as radiant as her smile; she was known for her feisty, one-of-a-kind demeanor that brought joy and laughter to those she encountered. Her loving, energetic spirit inspired many. A woman of many passions, Donna loved to color, having amassed quite a collection of markers and coloring books, which reflected her creativity. Writing poems and indulging in shopping were also among her cherished pursuits, allowing her to express her vibrant personality in various ways.
While Donna leaves behind a treasure trove of memories that are "too many to put into words," her legacy will continue to shine through her beloved family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Harry "Allen" Guss; nieces Kelsey (Brandon) Delles, Brittany Clenney, and Michelle (Andrew) Sims; great-nieces and nephews CJ, Kaylee, Ethan, Riley, Marley, and Gemma; and cousins Joan, Paula, and Jim. She also loved her cats, Midnight and Angel, and is survived by her good friends Gary and Cathy Etheridge. Each of these individuals carries a piece of Donna's heart, ensuring her memory lives on.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Mary Elliott, her sister Sharon Elliott, and her uncle Jay Elliott. Their love and guidance shaped the remarkable woman she became, and she will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know her.
As we remember Donna Guss, let us hold close the laughter, love, and inspiration she brought into our lives. Her memory will forever remain a beacon of light in our hearts.
