Donald J. Wilkins, 82, of Moline, IL, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Aspenwood Rehabilitation & Health Care in Silvis, IL. Services will be held Wednesday, November 16th, at 10:30 a.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, with a half-hour visitation prior to the services. Per his wishes, cremation rites will then be accorded, with inurnment at National Cemetery on Arsenal Island, Rock Island, IL, at a later date. Donald was born in Dubuque, IA, on January 14, 1934, to Ronald and Catherine Wilkins. He graduated from Dubuque High School. In Moline in 1995, he married Martha Parker, who survives. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 until 1058, and was honorably discharged as a Specialist 4th Class. He was a warehouseman for the Eagle Food Center in Milan, IL, for 28 years, retiring in 1992. Donald was a member of North Crest Calvary Baptist Church in Moline. In addition to his wife, survivors include sons, Wayne Wilkins of Hampton, IL, and Steve (Terry) Wilkins of Aledo, IL; daughter, Christie Wilkins of East Moline; stepson, Jim (Kathy) Allen of Rock Island; brother, David (Maureen) Wilkins of Antham, AZ; sister, Carol (Carl) Bush of Humboldt, AZ; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to his wife, Martha.
