Daniel Kemp, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026, in Bettendorf, Iowa, at the age of 76. Born on June 19, 1950, in Mexico, Missouri, Dan lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his work, and his many passions.

Dan graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1968. He spent his entire career dedicated to his craft as a repair and maintenance technician at Continental Cement. His commitment to his work was paralleled by his involvement with the boilermakers and blacksmith union, where he once served as vice president. A proud Democrat, Dan was known for his steadfast beliefs and willingness to engage in thoughtful conversation about the world around him.

Outside of his professional life, Dan found joy in reading and vegetable gardening. His passion for genealogy connected him to his roots, while his extensive collection of books, historical war items, and record albums reflected his love for history and music. He cherished spending time with his grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his later years.

Dan's easygoing nature, friendly disposition, and good-hearted spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and warmth that will be dearly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Edith (Eskew) Kemp; his daughter, Julia Duffy; his sister, Jeanette Marie Bucholz; his uncles, John and Dan Kemp; his aunt, Ruth Colvin; and his sister-in-law, Sandy Kemp.

Dan is survived by his son, Matt (Donyelle) Kemp; his siblings, Steve, Lee (Kandy), and Arthur (Linda) Kemp; and his grandchildren, Phoenix(Alex), Jacob(Alyssa), and Aiden. He is also survived by his son-in-law, Dave Duffy, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 3 pm to 5 pm, at Wendt Funeral Home, 1811 15th Street Pl., Moline, IL, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember Dan's remarkable life. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
