Brenda "Jill" Flowers, born on August 10, 1949, passed away peacefully at the age of 77 on August 28, 2026, in Moline, IL. Jill was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, whose warmth and kindness touched all who knew her.
A proud graduate of Moline High School, Class of 1967, Jill dedicated her career to serving her community through her work at Scott County Human Services. Her tireless commitment and many years of service were a testament to her love for helping others. She retired having made a lasting impact on those she served.
On May 1, 1997, she married John Flowers in Rock Island, IL. Together they shared many cherished years until his passing on March 12, 2019. Jill found immense joy in her family, particularly her grandchildren, always present at their school and sports events, cheering the loudest at her granddaughters' basketball games. Her kind spirit, ability to see the best in everything, and warm, welcoming nature made her the perfect companion and confidante. Lunch dates with her children and grandchildren were her treasured moments, filled with laughter and love.
Jill is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mable (Gulley) Harvey; her husband, John Flowers; an infant sister; and a grandson, Curtis Allender. Her legacy continues through her surviving family: her sons, Gabe Flowers of Moline and Wade (Amanda) Hansen of Colona, IL; her daughter, Sara Flowers of Moline; her brother Bradley Joe (Joyce) Harvey of TN; brother-in-laws, John (Joyce) Frank Pittman of Moline and James Pittman of St. Louis, MO; sister-in-law, Shirley Flowers of Moline, IL; her cherished grandchildren, Tyler Whipple, Peyton Hansen, Tavontae Flowers, Jimara Combs, Jasiana Allender; and nieces, Josie, Nikki and Kristin.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 5, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL, followed by the funeral service at 10:30 am. She will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery, Moline.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Jill's kindness and gentle spirit will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her.
