Helen Warhurst, 82, of Moline, IL, passed away Monday, July 5, 2010, at Trinity-Rock Island. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 6th, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be Wednesday, July 7th, at 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Helen Sorg was born in Laurel, MT, on July 6, 1927, to William and Elizabeth (Mikel) Sorg. On June 4, 1949, she married Harry Warhurst. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and her flowers, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed Moline High School basketball. In addition to Harry, her husband of 61 years, survivors include, children and their spouses: Nola and William Minear of Montgomery, IL, Bruce and Rita Warhurst of Bettendorf, IA, Scott and Patricia Warhurst of East Moline, Connie and Jonathan Myers of Colorado Springs, CO, and Jody Warhurst of Sacramento, CA; brothers: Herman Sorg of Columbus, MT, and William Sorg of Laurel, MT; a sister: Gerry Ungefug of Laurel, MT; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Robert, and a sister, Betty.
