Robert A. Vollrath, 95, of Moline, IL, died Friday, February 22, 2013, at St. Anthony's Continuing Care in Rock Island, IL.

A memorial service will be held for family members on March 3rd, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Burial was in Moline Memorial Park Cemetery.

Robert August Vollrath was born in Barstow, IL, on August 13, 1917, to August and Emelia (Schultz) Vollrath. In 1940, he married Marie Fraser, who survives.

He was a graduate of United Township High School, and attended business college. He worked at John Deere Harvester Works for twenty years, and then retired to become a self-employed bookkeeper. He enjoyed fishing and bowling, and was involved in the Moline Bowling Association for many years.

In addition to his wife, Marie, survivors include: a daughter, Marilyn Carlander of Chicago, IL; a son, Donald Vollrath of New Berlin, WI; six grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
