Sylvia E McCullough

Sylvia E. McCullough, 92, of Rock Island, IL, died Sunday, March 11, 2012, at East Moline Nursing and Rehab in East Moline, IL.

Services will be Thursday, March 15th, at 10:30 a.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, with a visitation from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service. A committal service will be held Thursday at 3:00 p.m., at Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb, IL.

Memorials may be made to New Hope Foursquare Church in Moline, IL, or the Fort Armstrong Activities Fund.

Sylvia Elizabeth Fosdyck was born in Macomb, IL, on May 27, 1919, to Dale and Laura (Burr) Fosdyck. On August 8, 1937, in Keokuk, IA, she married Frederick C. McCullough; they were later divorced. In 1964, she married Emmerson Butcher; they were divorced in 1968.

She was employed at Canteen at John Deere Harvester Company. Sylvia was a past member of the Eagles Club in East Moline, Wesley Methodist Church in Oaklawn, IL, and the Moline Gospel Temple in Moline. She enjoyed dancing, crocheting, cooking, bingo and fishing.

Survivors include: a daughter: Laura Luethmann of East Moline, IL; a son: Fredrick (Lee) McCullough of Boca Raton, FL; a brother, Joseph E. (Peggy) Fosdyck; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Hugh McCullough, granddaughter Michelle, two brothers: Dale D. Fosdyck and Clarence E. Fosdyck, and her parents.
